June Random Rants
I'm glad with this TNA/NXT crossover more people will be able to see Joe Hendry is a STAR. He is talented in the ring, but his charisma is off the charts and that is what will take his career places. At this point if you can't admit his theme song is infectious and catchy, please check your pulse.
Jacob Fatu finally debuted in the WWE as the newest member of the Bloodline and he did not disappoint. Taking out Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and Cody Rhodes. I cannot wait to see some of his matchups in the WWE. His entrance and solo introduction on Smackdown last night, proves he will be a star and the WWE brass is very high on him.
Now that the new Bloodline is at full force they need time to really cook and build their own identity. With that I don't see Roman Reigns returning until Survivor Series time, possibly Royal Rumble. I 100% could be wrong, but I see someone else possibly the realigned Uso's or CM Punk avenging Paul first. Then reinforcements in the form of one Roman Reigns will return much later to set things straight.
Also I hope aspiring managers in the business are studying Paul Heyman. Not only is he a master of the mic, but his facial reactions and body language during Solo's reign have really sold the story lately. In addition to looking like he hasn't slept in ages, I noticed last night I noticed stubble during a close up of a typically clean shaven Paul. Which helped drive he has been so distraught in addition to not sleeping, he's not taking care of himself. Those small nuances really make a difference.
Baron Corbin and Apollo Crew's backstage segment last night with Carmelo Hayes, has me hoping the two are paired into a tag team. I personally see value in a tag team with them.
Also, I think the potential new alliance between Chad Gable, Ivy Nile and The Creed Brothers could be very entertaining.
Dijak is officially a free agent, and I know I continue to beat the TNA horse when under utilized talent becomes free agents. Honestly, who knows how to present and better utilizes those talents than TNA? Now he may go to AEW for the money, and I am A-OK with that, or he may bet on himself and tear up the indy scene. The future is bright for Donovan Dijakovic though.
WWE and the state of Indiana have announced a deal that will bring Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, and Summerslam to Indiana over the course of a few years. Along with AEW's deal with Arlington, Texas I think this will become a normal thing in the business. As Cities and states are desperate for additional tax revenue large events bring, as well as the marketing and branding of cities as travel destinations.
Although we wouldn't get a Wrestlemania or Royal Rumble because we don't have a domed stadium, I hope the city of Baltimore and state of Maryland are formulating some plans for a potential deal. A Survivor Series weekend in Baltimore doesn't sound bad, or even better Summerslam live from M&T Bank Stadium. Especially with the renovations the Ravens and State are conducting at M&T, I'm sure they would love to show them off.
I touched on it in a earlier blog this week. The recent rating's woes in AEW highlight the company is going through a dry spell and thing's just aren't clicking for a lot of fans. While many fan's are spelling gloom and doom, I chalk it up to the game. Sometimes you hit and sometimes you miss, even with this blog there are articles I write and post that just don't click. And I have to reevaluate.
So AEW is taking feedback, looking at the landscape of their roster and company. Acting like adults (Tony Khan) and using this opportunity to reevaluate a few things.
When you look at The Elite, one thing that stands out is they need some muscle. A hulking towering enforcer to do their dirty work. They simply do not look intimidating at all, Okada is billed at 6'3 and I believe that is kind of a stretch, but the other three members are under 6 feet. I think some legit muscle would help folks buy into them as a legitimate threat.
The group created to continue Bray Wyatt's legacy finally debuted this month. The Wyatt Sick debut was absolutely a masterpiece in presentation. I'm also intrigued and enjoyed the VHS tape bit and Bo Dallas sharing his inner thoughts about his brother's death. I wonder if it will play out the same way for the rest of the group. I think WWE has big plans up their sleeves to throw us several wild cards in the story of Wyatt Sick.
That's all folks, I had a busy June so I kept this one tight. See you next month, stay safe and have a good holiday week.
