November Random Rants

Welp we've gotten past Halloween and Turkey Season, now it's time for Jingle bells, egg nog and cheesy movies on Hallmark or Netflix or both if you like both. It's also time for most promotions to either go on cruise control or start laying eggs for things to really kick off in 2025.

AEW announced that January 1st Dynamites: Fight For The Fallen will be simulcast on Max (man I wish they change it back to HBO Max). Which opens the door to AEW to gain new fans, speaking of which I'm out of the loop is Bleacher Report Live still a thing?

I'm really enjoying The Death Riders as a unit and the brutal beatdowns they bestow upon their competition. However, I'm starting to feel like AEW better turn the page on this storyline and kick the next act in gear who fan's will quickly lose any interest in this angle. Other than beatdowns and destroying Orange Cassidy they haven't really done much else in whatever their mission is.

It is Great to have Powerhouse Hobbs back. He has all the tools to be a major player on the AEW roster  and hopefully the company finally let's him loose on the trajectory to claiming a top spot in the org.

I'm not sure if AEW pulling Ricky Starks from future GCW events, after he appeared and lit up the landscape is a legit beef between the two or kayfabe. What I do know is if AEW does not capitalize on the promo and the general feeling amongst fan's AEW is holding him back, to make some serious money. Then Tony Khan and company are truly clueless.

The first Wednesday of November NXT was held from the historic 2300 arena in Philadelphia. Invoking the spirit of ECW and bringing along several ECW legends. It was a great idea, and one I hope NXT does more of in the future. One idea floating around social media was to hold an event at the Mall Of America to celebrate WCW Nitro's 30th anniversary next year, and I'm all for it.

It's just a nitpick of mine, but I do wish the NXT show at 2300 Arena had more of that "gritty" ECW feel and not the WWE overly produced show. I would have liked if the entrance bought back the old ECW brick entrance for one night. Fan's eat those small nostalgia tip of the hat things up, just look how many old school arenas are recreated on online games.

Netflix and it's streaming troubles was the talk of the town during the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight. While Netflix has multiple servers using cloud services (I believe they use AWS), the sheer amount of people tuning in as well as people who turned on Netflix for other reasons was too much for their load balancers to probably handle (Geek speak I know).

Their next big test will be Christmas Day games, and if that has the same amount of hiccups. I think the WWE has every right to be a very concerned leading up to their debut on January 6th.

Speaking of netflix, Britt Baker appears in the latest installment of Season 6 in Cobra Kai. I almost did not recognize her at first glance, and while she displays some cool moves in a fight scene. She doesn't have any lines, and I'm kind of like what was the point of focusing the camera on her so much.

I am all for this alliance between The Miz and the Final Testament that was revealed when they attacked the Wyatt Sicks. I enjoy the Miz's work and think he is underrated as a worker and heat magnet, but he is one of those guys who's act can get stale very fast. The Final Testament has had a hard time catching on with fans, maybe this will be the storyline that get's them over the hump.

Survivor Series: WarGames has had fan's spilt down the middle since Saturday night. Some fan's thought it was a very good show, that did enough to lay the foundation as we start gearing up for the road to Wrestlemania. Other's considered the show boring and underwhelming, I for one enjoyed the show it didn't overstay it's welcome and had some solid matches on it.

I think where everyone's disappointment lies is in Triple H's tweet before the show, hinting towards some twists and turns occuring at the event. That led to fan's thinking that Paul Heyman would turn on the original Bloodline, or The Rock would appear. Or on a less impactful move, Hikuleo would debut to help The new Bloodline get the win.

Then the show took a longgggg time going off the air which included The OG Bloodline and CM Punk doing a lot of pandering and settling the beef. Posing, leaving the cage and greeting Paul Heyman before ending the show with another pose. Which a lot of people probably considered alot of dead time something could have happened.

The WWE has a busy season ahead of them, so maybe Triple H was hinting for stuff down the road and mixed the shows up. Who Knows?

That's all for me this month folks, have a safe and happy holiday season. I best advice for everyone this month is try to put as much off as you can until 2025.
