Wrestler Commercials You May Not Remember

I've been sitting on this topic for a good while now. Researching and writing, but never really sitting down to complete the blog. However WWE seemingly has kicked the door in on their roster hawking products. Wrestlemania seemed to be overkill in that department. Everything was just one giant ad which is fine if companies are willing to pay.

Cena in drumstick ads, Carmelo Hayes snickers ad. Minute Maid and Dude Wipes sponsoring matches. Hell before tax day they had a commercial for turbotax, featuring Rhea Ripley, Rey Mysterio, and Bron Breakker.

I decided to go down the rabbit hole of commercials featuring wrestlers that have been forgotten about.  The new deals  got9 me thinking about past commercials featuring professional wrestlers. We all know and love the Macho Man Slim Jim commercials, to this day on the rare occasion I eat one, I never take a bite without saying Snap Into A Slim Jim.

While those commercials are classic, what about the one's we just don't remember due to the passage of time? Here are 10 wrestler commercials you may not remember or even be aware of.

10. Demolition Pizza Hut Commercial

In 1990 the WWF and Pizza Hut came to some sort of agreement in which Demolition appeared in a Pizza Hut ad. The tag team were helping to sell the fact that Tuesday Night's were Kid's night at Pizza Hut. They are in the commercial for like 3 seconds and apparently wasted no time during their part.

9. WWF Miller Lite Commercial

With how corporate the WWE is now I would find it hard as hell to see any current wrestlers in a beer ad. However in the 1980's as a privately owned company trying to put their stamp on pop culture, any ad is a good ad. The company had a series of ad's with Miller Lite that also featured legends like John Madden and Bob Uecker.

8. Goldberg and Meng Little Caesar's Commercial

Little Caesar's was an advertiser for WCW in the late 90's and thus a ad featuring Goldberg and Meng occured. The two face off in an match before deciding to settle the score by eating pizza, all in the name of promoting WCW's limited edition of trading cards only available at Little Caesars.

7. Dusty Rhodes Mello Yello Commercial

In the late 80's The American Dream Dusty Rhodes, was the spokesmen for Mello Yello. Appearing in several ads for the brand. Namely a special series of Mello Yello cans, featuring NWA wrestlers. These cans were collectibles and I wonder to these day if anyone still has some. Dusty also famously put his spin on the brands signature line "Make the yello mello move".

6. D-X Super Soaker Commercial

D-X was one of WWE's most popular and provocative acts during the Attitude era. They were the personification of the juvenile anti-authority mentality during that time. So it seems only right they were in a commercial for the super soaker.

5. Terry Funk Wendy's Commercial

This is one I absolutely would not know existed, if not for the power of the internet. I'm also quite shocked it actually does exist. Terry Funk of all people shilling a Wendy's hamburger.

4. Lita Stacker 2 Commercial

Stacker 2 is a energy supplement company that gained popularity in the early 2000's. A huge advertiser for the WWE, they aligned their partnership through a series of commercials. One you may not remember with nascar driver Kenny Wallace making a cameo. While Lita showed off her driving skills around the track shocking everyone.

3. John Cena YJ Stinger Commercial

YJ Stinger was a energy drink made by Stacker 2 that WWE also promoted. This promo features the Dr. Of Thuganomics John Cena rapping a freestyle pushing the product. He actually cut a nice little rhyme honestly.

2. Kurt Angle Pizza Outlet

Pizza Outlet was a Pittsburgh based Pizzeria chain. So it's only fitting they would hire one of Pittsburgh favorite son's to shill their pizza. Complete with cutting edge for the late 90's CGI of pizza toppings squaring off. Cheesy, yes! Fits the tone of Kurt Angle? Absolutely. Does it work? Of course!

1. WCW Roo's Sneakers Commercial

KangaRoos more commonly known as Roos, were a second tier brand of sneakers prevalent in the 70's and 80's. Known for the side zipper on the sneakers, complete with a tag. WCW always a step behind, entered into a partnership with them in the early 90's as the shoe's popularity was falling.

They had some cool commercials and print ads made for the sneaker. Including this one featuring the man called Sting.
