A Gift & A Curse, Is There Too Much Content?

This Saturday AEW presents Forbidden Door alongside NJPW. Next month we get AEW All Out, and thanks to WWE's desire to take over the world Wrestlepalooza on the same day. Last weekend we had TNA Emergence, Triple A Triplemania, and NJPW G1 Climax. Earlier this month two nights of a honestly rather lackluster Summerslam. At the end of the month we get NXT Heatwave and  WWE Clash In Paris.Quite a busy month for pro wrestling fans.

Last month was a busy month as well in the world of pro wrestling when it came to televised events. In one weekend fans got WWE Smackdown on Friday, NXT Great American Bash Saturday afternoon, then Saturday Night's Main Event that evening. Capping off with Evolution II that Sunday. While on the AEW front that same weekend, Friday Night was ROH Supercard of Honor. Then Saturday was the well received All In.

Now, big wrestling weekends have become more common in recent years especiallg with the TKO regime. As well as they're efforts to "stick it" to AEW. Memorial Day Weekend was loaded as well, although by NXT Tuesday it kind of backfired on WWE.

Any how, in this content heavy world we live in especially  with streaming apps. We get wrestling every day of the week, Monday Night Raw, NXT on Tuesdays, AEW Dynamite and Evolve on Wednesday, Impact Thursdays, and Smackdown Friday. AEW Collision on Saturday night, then a PPV/PLE either Saturday or Sunday.

Throw in a MLW event, NWA, NJPW, AAA, GCW, or indy event. Not to mention auxiliary programs like evolve, LFG, pre and post shows, and the various documentaries available and pro wrestling can quickly fill up a calendar. I've seen various opinions on this and depending on which end of the spectrum your on. You either love all the content available or may consider it a chore trying to keep up with everything.

While I do enjoy all the options available. I do feel like it can become overwhelming to try and keep up with everything. And I don't try, I had to take a if I can catch it I will approach if I can't I'll check the results. There's only so much time to devote to it, along with other hobbies and commitments.

While we has wrestling fans should bask in the overabundace of content available. As well as the opportunities it provides wrestlers. The promotions especially WWE have to be a bit more strategic in what they throw at us. Not just in regards to our money and ticket prices, but the time commitment it takes.

If you have the time to commit, all fine and dandy. If you don't then it becomes a very daunting task to keep up with.

The mass availability of pro wrestling right now, is something I think all fans have yearned for. Now that it's here is it too much? It's a gift and a curse to have all this content at our disposal, but it can come with some drawbacks.

Sometimes I get concerned about the sheer amount of content could negatively affect individual promotions, and eventually the industry as a whole. Just look at the MCU, and how they are trying to right the ship.

What are your thoughts? Love all the content available or feel like it becomes a chore?
