Random July Rants

 My random rants last month I mentioned work was whipping my ass. Well July work straight bulldozed me. 

This classic Keith Lee/Adam Cole segment has been me and work all damn summer.

The Chris Jericho-Don Callis story is intriguing, where it ends up I'm not sure. One thing I do know is it's hinting towards some sort of alteration to the Chris Jericho character. Which maybe it is time for.

I'm looking forward to this Lashley and Street Profits partnership, with Melo and Trick potentially added. One thing I hope is that they are not named The Hurt Business. The Hurt Business was its own magic WWE dropped the ball on and should be left alone. Let this new unit create their own legacy.

Between the aesthetics of AEW Collision's logo, Blood & Guts, Impact's Slammiversary and NXT's Great American Bash to name a few. While it may have ended in the toilet, WCW's legacy and influence on pro wrestling continues to live on.

While we're on Collision, I've seen people still griping about Collision being on Saturday nights and I'm really curious. What is the difference between watching pro wrestling on a Saturday night and watching College Football, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, and any other sport on a Saturday night? 

Prime example of some people complain just to complain.

While some fans complained, AEW making changes for wrestler and fan safety is for the best.

Really random but where in the world is Kelly Klein? She was a talented hard hitting gritty female wrestlers, after her legal issues with ROH/Sinclair. Unless she has completely put pro wrestling behind her and moved on which I completely understand, I would like to see her return to the squared circle.

Summerslam is next weekend, and while we all know Jey is not defeating Roman. I'm curious if this will truly be the blowoff match for these two and the story which started 3 Years ago? Or will it continue through Survivor Series or possibly end of the year?

One interesting idea I have in my mind, what if Jey loses but snaps. Takes out Solo to the point of no recovery, scares Heyman off and wails on Roman. Until Jimmy returns  and saves Roman by yelling to Jey "We Family", much like Jimmy did at Clash of The Champions in 2020.

A blood thirsty Jey trailing a slightly weakened and now frightened Roman and Solo for the next couple months, may help the story evolve..with Jimmy on Jey's side but by having time to reflect on what this has done to the family tries to remind everyone they are in fact family.

There are rumors The Rock may appear at Summerslam. With the writers and Actors strike currently going on with no end in sight, he has some time on his hands so maybe the ball is being put into play up to Mania.

Also really random, I remember back in 2021 when it was announced the WWE network was ceasing operations and merging with peacock, there was a huge uproar. I kind of felt eh about it, but quickly accepted it.

Anyway a couple years later with the streaming game oversaturated and many companies cutting back trying to figure out how to make streaming profitable. Disney and Hulu are combining into one app, HBO Max and Discovery became one app. Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav even admitted streaming apps may need to consolidate. The point of all this is to say just like when the WWE network was launched, moving to peacock showed how shrewd Vince McMahon is as a businessman.
