Power To The People: The Return Of R. Truth

In a span of a week, beginning last Sunday R. Truth announced his time with the WWE was coming to an end unceremoniously after almost 20 years with the company. Fan's world wide went into an uproar over the situation, even hijacking various segments on WWE TV with "We Want Truth" chants. Then at Money In The Bank Saturday night, R. Truth returned to the WWE attacking John Cena costing him and Logan Paul their match against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. Immediately fan speculation went wild on if this was the plan all along, or a pivot was made. Turn's out a pivot was made, WWE reached out for a quick return, a deal was done and it's all thanks to the fan's.

Now this isn't the first time fan uproar has changed the narrative so to speak. Remember the Yes Movement taking over Wrestlemania XXX, forcing Vince and company to include Daniel Bryan in the main event. Let's not forget fan uproar caused Cody's story to take the front seat and the Roman vs Rock Mania match take a backseat. Which at this point, may not ever happen to be honest. All that is besides the point though.

Some will say R. Truth is a mid-carder at best, so why the uproar. Many will counter back that Truth is a damn good entertainer, that has put his all in everything he has been asked to do. Secondly he is in his early 50's and doesn't look or move like so. I also want to throw in and I stand by this, his 2011 heel run is very underrated. I also think Cena pulled for Truth to be bought back to work with once again. I'm also intrigued about him going by Ron Killings now, instead of R.Truth and which way he will go in the long run...face or another heel run?

Now of that matters right now though. What really matters is that the fan's really made all of this happen. If such an uproar did not occur, then Truth would be waiting for his contract to expire to see what's out there for him. Credit to WWE and TKO for seeing this and seeing the potential money that was left on the table (that's all they care about these days).

It show's we as fan's still have a great deal of power in the WWE universe. And we have to make sure we use it wisely. Power To The People! We bought back R. Truth for one last run.
