5 Wrestlers Who Could Star In A Cartoon

Once upon a time not that long ago Saturday morning cartoons were a big deal. I was too young for the heyday of 80's cartoons, but in the 90's and early 2000's we had Fox Kids, WB kids, and ABC's One Saturday Morning cartoons. Pro Wrestling has dipped their hands into the cartoon game before.

Rey Mysterio had a cartoon Rey Mysterio vs La Oscuridad (Rey Mysterio vs Darkness) on cartoon network in latin America, Camp WWE. Of course Hulk Hogan's Rock n Wrestling cartoon. Not to mention the countless cameos by wrestlers in cartoons. Also once upon a time everyone had a cartoon MC Hammer, The Jackson 5, Harlem Globetrotters, Macaulay Culkin, Kid N Play, Jackie Chan. Thats a whole different blog but the list is long.

So I started thinking about which modern day wrestlers could headline a cartoon with their character. Here's 5 that if WWE, TNA, or AEW wanted to get into the cartoon business, these wrestlers could make it work. Through the power of AI, I've made them animated.

Harley Cameron

Harley Cameron's star rose earlier this year, when she entered into a feud against Mercedes Mone. Showcasing her ventrioluqist skills along with her humor, guitar playing, singing and rapping talent. All talents needed to be a well rounded entertainer and could be used to lead a cartoon.

Mr. Iguana

Mr. Iguana is an industry veteran wrestling since 2009. However since WWE has purchased AAA and integrating them into their product, his stock has risen. Decked out in green makeup with his trusty Iguana (real or stuffed) by his side.

Mr. Iguana is the perfect character to translate to a cartoon. Solving crimes or traversing the world with his Iguana by his side.

Danhausen

Another popular wrestler that utilizes face paint for his gimmick. Danhausen is an odd one, odd enough to capture kids attention as he navigates the cartoon world. He character channels the likes of Conan O'Brien and Pee Wee Herman, with the spirit of Halloween.

A cartoon of his could follow the format of Scooby-Doo, or immerse him amongst regular people as he makes his way through the world. Or host a haunted mansion full of odd characters like a Pee Wees Playhouse. A lot of potential is there for a Danhausen cartoon.

Kris Statlander

When Kris Statlander joined AEW her gimmick was that of an "alien". She wore face paint to help sell the idea she was an alien, held the nickname Galaxy's Greatest Alien, and was billed as from the Andromeda galaxy. She dropped the gimmick in favor of a more relatable gimmick, but the potential is there.

Supposedly she is a big sci-fi geek. Imagine a cartoon stylized in the anime format with Statlander as a alien. Either on another planet or on earth blending in, saving the day. Could really help her personal brand and the AEW brand, if a cartoon featuring her happened and was successful.

Joe Hendry

Say his name and he appears! Joe Hendry once popped out of a refrigerator on NXT. Perfect fodder for a cartoon where the laws of physics really don't apply. Joe Hendry the character is a bit aloof but likeable, and serious when it's called for. His theme song is catchy and could be used as plot device.

Hendry could literally hop through time and space, simply by his name being spoken. Kind of like someone wishing on a shooting star. Just imagine all ths adventures he'd get into globe trotting to save the day. His popularity likely would grow even more.
