October Random Rants

Welp Spooky season is over and here we are, just two months left in 2023. Honestly, the older I get it seems the quicker the years roll by.

Now that thats out the way let's cover some random rants for October.

Its a product of the world we live but I miss the days of genuinely being surprised when someone shows up with a new promotion. With Jade Cargill signing with WWE leaked ahead of time, same with Adam Copeland moving to AEW.  It takes away some of the excitement and a lot of "Holy Shit" moments.

Imagine if it was well known when Lex Luger or Scott Hall was showing up on Nitro. The impact and legendary status of it just wouldn't be the same.

While we're on Jade Cargill, I previously wrote how I would have introduced her to the WWE. I must say I was wrong, having her appear on each brand (Raw, Smackdown, NXT). Just to make her prescene felt and then leave has been working wonders making her a bigger star before wrestling her first WWE match.

I'm not sure who I am enjoying seeing more of on AEW. Toni Storm and her Timeless persona or Christian Cage's Get Off My Lawn say whatever I feel old man heel act. Both have really reinvented themselves with their new acts.

Tony Khan has another major announcement on Dynamite. I'm assuming it's related to Max streaming service (for the life of me why did Discovery change the name? HBO Max was fine).

Speaking of Tony Khan, his twitter meltdowns are honestly a cry for help in my opinion and exhausting to keep up with and give too much thought to.

NWA has reportedly signed a deal to air on the CW network. I haven't consistently watched NWA and I know the backlash they received making Tyrus champion. I am happy they are getting the opportunity to air on a broadcast network.

Reports came in over the weekend stating Hammerstone has requested his release from MLW. Which Hammerstone confirmed almost right away. MLW has not yet granted Hammerstone his release, which I get. They built the organization around Hammerstone and Jacob Fatu in recent years. They probably feel like the return on investment has not reached its full potential yet.

On the other hand, if Hammerstone believes he has hit a ceiling in MLW and it's time to move on. It's for the best to come to some sort of agreement. He surely would be scooped up right away by another organization.

Juicy Finua and Lance Anoa'i also requested their releases and were granted it. I'm not too sure what the future holds for those two.

Both nights spread across 2 weeks of Halloween Havoc were very enjoyable. I appreciate how NXT has managed to bring new life to old WCW event names and put their own spin on the theme.

NWA and MLW also held Spooky season themed events with Samihan and Slaughterhouse respectively.

Which made me realize Impact does not really do a Halloween themed event. I'm not sure if it's because Bound For Glory is held in October they want that to be the center of attention. I think an Halloween themed edition of Impact would be crazy entertaining with Impacts fingerprints on it.

Think about how entertaining the IPWF Throwback Throwdown editions of Impact are. Along with Wrestle House and John E. Bravos shooting mystery were. An Impact driven Halloween storyline or event would be gold.

Impact made the big announcement at Bound For Glory (AMAZING card top to bottom from what I've heard), that in 2024 they were rebranding back to TNA. At first I wasn't sure, but as time goes by and the more I think about it. I am very excited to see how the company does as TNA again.

That's all for me. Hope everyone doesn't experience too much Halloween Hangover. Be safe and enjoy time with family as the holiday season will kick into full gear fast.

Until next time, stay gucci everyone!
