Everybody's A Critic: How I Would Have Announced Jade Cargill's Signing

After weeks of speculation it's official, Jade Cargill has signed with the WWE and started training at the performance center. This is a big deal for all parties as my hope is Jade becomes a bit more polished in the ring working in the WWE. Hoping Tyson Kidd and Nattie take her under their wing.

For WWE, this is their first "get" from the first real competition they've had since WCW closed in 2001. And it is a major deal.

I truly believe with the WWE she will become a bigger star and potentially wrestling's next cross over star with the WWE/TKO machine behind her.

WWE announced her signing on social media followed by a full press release. She conducted an interview with ESPN and other news outlet's on that same day. WWE social media pages showed a clip of her walking into the PC ready to work. The red carpet truly was laid out for Jade and she has been treated like the star she is.

Now, I previously wrote an article about how free agent press conferences are missing in wrestling today.  I feel this was a perfect opportunity for WWE to use that long forgotten format.

In my opinion they could have done one of two things. First announce her signing on social media, and then announce she'd make an appearance on The Bump. Or don't say anything and let the fans who tune into The Bump get a treat of a breaking news segment.

That segment would be a pre-recorded press conference of Jade Cargill and her "team" announcing her signing. Complete with "reporters" asking questions and Jade making her statements on why she came to the WWE and what her mission is.

Then boom after 2-3 minutes, segment is over and anticipation builds on when Jade will make another return to TV and more importantly her WWE in-ring debut.

Now of course since she just started training at the PC. WWE may hold out on her debut for some time, I don't see it as likely, but if they decide to hold off on her debut through the end of the year. She may debut as a participant in the Royal Rumble

Whenever she debuts it will be a big deal either way, I just feel her signing could have been utilized more. Complete with the pomp and circumstances, nothing particularly wrong with how WWE did it. I just would have done it differently.

Either way the next few months should be really interesting in how Jade is presented.
