3 Potential Hurt Syndicate Members

It's clear AEW has big plans for The Hurt Syndicate, as they should. It's a foregone conclusion that a big part of those plans are to bring a fourth member into the ranks, likely a much younger member. The current trio are all in their late fortie's and despite Lashley and Shelton Benjamin defying odds being in peak physical condition and still performing, eventually Father Time catches up with everyone.

In order for The Hurt Syndicate to continue their legacy started as The Hurt Business in WWE, and at the same time stand apart from that incarnation of the group. They will need to bring a fourth member, possibly a fifth on board that can get that "rub" and set that talent up for long-term success on the roster whether it's with the group or as a solo wrestler.

There have been segment's where AEW has tried his hand at recruiting since joining the organization. While Ricochet . Powerhouse Hobbs or Max Castor may seem like the obvious choices, I put together three diamonds in the rough that would be much better options to join the Hurt Syndicate

Lee Johnson

Lee Johnson has been with AEW since 2020 and his biggest claim to fame inside the ring during that time was being associated with the Nightmare Family. Outside the ring it's probably being married to Julia Hart. He's mostly made appearances in squash matches on Dynamite or on "B Shows" and Ring of Honor. Which is a shame.

He turn's 27 year's old this month and has a great deal of potential. If he was paired with the three veterans and learn from them inside and outside the ring, he could really set himself up for a great future in the organization. I could see him as an upper mid-carder (for now), but as he gains more experience and develops a character he could go further. His nickname is "Big Shotty" which ties into the Hurt Syndicate being successful power players.

EJ Nduka

If Lee Johnson isn't the right choice, maybe recent tag-team partner EJ Nduka is. If you ask me WWE made a mistake releasing EJ Nduka and AEW currently is not utilizing him properly. I thought more would come out of that TV appearance he had with Swerve during the weigh-in against Will Ospreay for Forbidden Door, but it went nowhere. Billed at 6'8 he fit the bill as Swerve's enforcer to help him keep the title, since thing's didn't go in that direction. Joining the Hurt Syndicate would be his next best opportunity to make his name known in the AEW world.

He is an imposing figure, and if you have seen his matches (he really displayed talent in MLW) then you know he has power and can move around the ring. He also has shown he has personality, which can be needed to match that of one MVP. He could work the majority of matches and help preserve Lashley and Shelton Benjamin's in-ring time for when it's really needed. Steadily building his name in the process.

Bishop Kaun

I've been a fan of Kaun since he wrestled in a local promotion in my area Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW), alongside Malcolm Moses as The Son's Of Savagery. I even told him that he was a future star of the business and it's time to start charting that path. His demeanor is that of a quiet beast which based on meeting him I think is honestly his personality, a reserved laid back guy. The trio of the Hurt Syndicate could help him show more personality to stand out.

He definitely could play the role of muscle for the Hurt Syndicate gaining knowledge and win's, until it is time for him to branch off on his own. I just believe he would fit right in with the group to be that "young" guy who get's the rub and fan's take notice. Realizing they've been sleeping on him and he can move atop the card of AEW.
