3 Ways Charlotte Flair Can Reinvent Herself
In a recent interview with People Charlotte Flair opened up about her personal struggles, and her desire to have her character more relatable. It's overdue honestly when you think about it, July 13th mark's 10 years since Charlotte Flair debuted on the WWE main roster. Alongside Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch to usher in the "Diva's Revolution" era. In those ten year's Bayley has reinvented herself, Sasha has moved to AEW and is essentially the same character with a couple of tweaks her and there, and Becky has reinvented herself quite a few times. Charlotte Flair has essentially been the same character for the past decade.
Now in her interview she came off as if she want's to be a babyface, but we all know is she much better as a heel. Especially coming off the feud with Tiffany Stratton where things seemed to go off the rails, and there is was and may still be legit heat between the two. With more time behind her than in front of her, now is the time to switch things up. So I'm going to do some fantasy booking in this blog, and provide 3 ways Charlotte could reinvent herself.
3. Psycho Charlotte
Charlotte's acting hasn't really changed over the year's. We've seen her angry and pissed off, but I don't recall seeing Charlotte Flair crack a joke. She's always been very stoic and very confident, so let's see some range from Charlotte. We need unhinged psycho Charlotte Flair, so distraught over losing to Tiffany Stratton and thing's not going her way since her injury in 2023 she just snaps.
Viciously attacking fellow roster members men and woman, even with a lead pipe or something. Until she find's the prime target she is after. A psycho Charlotte who can't get out of her own head and won't stop until her comeback is where she want's it to be. I think could rejuvenate the character and give her something new and exciting to do. I hate to compare them, but Naomi has been cookin since she shedded the Glow persona and gone a bit crazy. Charlotte could turn it up a notch and be even crazier.
2. Be A Mentor
In early January this year Charlotte posted a picture on social media, backstage with Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend. Sparking theories she was starting a faction with those two for her return. Nothing has came out of it, but it's not a bad idea. Charlotte is a veteran and could help steer two talents like Lash and Jakara to prominence. Or maybe she could take Fatal Influence or Fallon Henley under her wing, playing the role of a mentor but still demonstrating her alpha woman mentality.
Helping whoever is under her wing become champions or become tag team champion with her. Then when the time is right, pull the ol' mentee turns on mentor storyline. Charlotte is the devasted mentor who gave her all to pass knowledge to the next generation, only to be stabbed in the back. Boom Charlotte is a instant face to get her revenge.
1. Disavow The Flair persona
Imagine Charlotte Flair stands in the middle of the ring and talks about how The Flair name has been a gift and a curse. Especially with the comparisons to her father regarding failed marriages. She proclaims while she is a Flair, it does not define her. Next thing you know, she doesn't do the figure eight or chops any longer. She stop's woooing, and no longer wear's over the top robes to the ring. Her theme music changes no longer incorporating Ric Flair's theme into her's. She has completely removed any ounce of the Flair persona from her act.
She would essentially be starting over as Charlotte Flair. A stripped down, workhouse Charlotte Flair ready to regain her spot atop the card. When she conducts promos she would wear more low key sweat gear as opposed to the fancy label attire she's normally wearing now. That could help rebuild her connection to the fan's and the babyface run she's looking for. It would either be a grand idea that works or fan's wouldn't accept it. But, I think it would a gold angle and one for the book's if it was successfully pulled off.
