Wrestler Personas That Would Work In Street Fighter

The third attempt at bringing Street Fighter to the big screen and doing it right, releases in theaters this weekend. With Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns playing in the film as Guile and Akuma respectively. I for one am looking forward to this new iteration and think even if its an ok movie, it will be a fun movie.

That aside, I started thinking about the franchise and pro wrestling. I thought what wrestlers today for one reason or another, would make good characters in the world of Street Fighter. Preparing for a tournament while standing out with their personalities. And who legit would have a chance in that world.

So I started thinking and came up with 10 wrestlers, that would make good Street Fighter characters.

Eddie Kingston

The quintessential trash talking street fighter. All brawl nothing else, Eddie Kingston rough and tumble style more reminiscent of Streets Of Rage than Street Fighter. Would be a perfect contrast to the fighting styles one would see in those tournaments.

Sol Ruca

Every tournament needs a highly athletic fighter, who's style is a blend of different disciplines. If Sol Ruca is one thing, she is one of the top 3 athletic woman on WWE's womans roster. Her style would translate into some exciting match ups in a tournament.

Logan Paul

Every tournament needs that arrogant, smug bastard. The one you absolutely cannot wait until they are punched in the face. Logan Paul is that guy in real life and within the world of video games, he would be ten times worst.

Jacob Fatu

The brutal quick tempered, light on his feet Samoan Werewolf. With his size and strength in the world of Street Fighter, Jacob Fatu would be one man you want no parts of. He easily would manhandle opponets in a matter of minutes if not seconds.

Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler is a MMA fighter and pro wrestler, that takes no BS. Straight ferocious she could choke out any fellow competitor, man or woman before most people blink. Her hard hitting submission background, and thirst for violence and inflicting pain would make her a dangerous fighter.

Lei Ying Lee

Another female wrestler with a lethal pro wrestling and MMA background, Lei Ying Lee. She also has an aura and mystique about her, which is always an advantage. The competition doesn't fully know how to combat you. An advantage in a tournament and an intriguing character.

Chris Jericho

The aging over the hill former tournament winner. Aiming for one last shot at glory. While still trying to hold onto his rock star days. Sounds an awful lot like Chris Jericho these days.

While the man is a legend, his time has come and gone. A fighter who just can't let go would be perfect for a tournament storyline.

Matt Riddle

There's always room for comic relief in any genre or story. Matt Riddle's dopey, pothead, brooo personality is perfect material for that role. Add the fact he is quite dangerous with a MMA and pro wrestling background. He would be a good competitor in that world.

Will Ospreay

Even in grapple based fighting styles, you need a person who has some hops. That's able to jump around off basically anything, and manipulate their body to make a stronger impact. That's where the "aerial assassin" Will Ospreay comes into play. Making him an exciting edition to a tournament in the world of Street Fighter.

Oba Femi

The Ruler is a imposing and intimidating figure to any competitor. At 6'6 and over 300 pounds but all muscle, he is almost an immovable object. Hard to get off his feet, he could plow through other competitors. Once he finishes the job and hits his signature pose, he'd make it known who the ruler of the land truly is.
