Broken Skull Sessions Wish List

I finally got around to watching the latest edition of Broken Skull Sessions on the WWE network, with Kurt Angle as the guest. I personally love these interviews and appreciate that they're  spread out and not rushed, which makes each episode highly anticipated. Watching these sessions I can't help but wonder who will be interviewed next. As such here's my top ten wish list of potential guest for The Broken Skull Sessions.

1. The Rock

With his overly busy schedule I'm not sure if this would ever happen, but damnit The Rock needs to set aside some time and make it happen. The Rock and Austin feud made each other better, starting with their feud over the intercontinental championship in late '97. Followed by their feud in '98 and '99 when The Rock was the corporations chosen one and Stone Cold was the guy giving middle fingers to the corporation and anyone who stood in his way. Leading to their Wrestlemania 17 match in '01 when Stone Cold turned heel.

The Rock has told his life story several times over and is developing a TV series depicting his story called Young Rock . I'm sure an interview with Stone Cold would touch on that, but I'm more interested in how he developed from Rocky Maivia into The Rock. Creating his catch phrases, raising his eyebrow and the little nuances that made him the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. Also touching on his progression into Hollywood, and the various roles he played before finding his niche. Maybe we'd also get a drink off between Stone Cold's Broken Skull Beer and The Rock's Teremana Tequila.

2. Sting

Sting was Thee Franchise Player of WCW during his career. With the company since 1987, he stuck through the most difficult times of the organization never bolting during the Monday Night Wars. He eventually joined the WWE in late 2014, but by that time his career was already in the twilight. Sting has his legendary feud with Ric Flair, his time teaming with the Ultimate Warrior in the indy's, his year long feud with against the NWO and the fiasco that was Starrcade '97. Joining the NWO Wolfpac, his surfer gimmick vs. the crow gimmick, his time in WCW as it was coming to an end so much more to talk about.

3. Stephanie McMahon

Stone Cold has interviewed Vince McMahon on his previous network show Stone Cold Podcast, and interviewed Shane McMahon on The Steve Austin Show. It's only logical he interviews Stephanie McMahon next. As the assumed heir to the WWE throne, it would be interesting to hear her give hopefully non-corporate thoughts on how the business is ran, industry changes, and where things are headed. It would also be good to hear her life growing up, her different roles in the company, and her different on-screen personas from the shy daughter of the companys chairman to the billion dollar princess, Smackdown GM and an authority figure.

4. Kevin Nash

Kevin Nash went through many gimmicks, trials and tribulations before finding success in the WWF as Diesel and moving to WCW where his legacy was created. He is also an O.G. bad boy of wrestling as a member of the Kliq, a founding member of the NWO, a booker for WCW during the late 90's. He was also the Super Shredder in Secret of The Ooze, what's an cooler job than that? Nash is also a straight shooter and would make for good quality conversation with Stone Cold.

5. Ron Simmons

Ron Simmons aka Faarooq is one bad ass dude inside and outside of the ring. He's a straight shooter and probably a bigger shit talker than Stone Cold. I was at last years Starrcast IV when he was interviewed by Scott Hudson about his career, and he will keep you laughing during the entire interview. Ron Simmons is very accomplished an 2x All-American college football hall of famer at Florida State University, he was the first Black champion in wrestling when he won the WCW Heavyweight Championship from Vader in '92. The leader of the Nation of Domination, the cigar chomping, beer guzzling member of APA, get these two a beer and they could probably entertain for hours.

6. Booker T.

When Stone Cold Steve Austin and Booker T. are mentioned in the same sentence, you automatically think about they're supermarket brawl back in '01. Booker T. was a cornerstone of WCW during the later years of the organization, and was one half of the most accomplished tag teams in wrestling history Harlem Heat. He also has several stories to tell, growing up in Houston, the G.I. Bro gimmick, winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in 2000, his king Booker gimmick, his wrestling school and the talent it has produced. Booker T. is a prime candidate for an interview.

7. Ted Dibiase

The Million Dollar Man is one of my favorite wrestlers of the Rock N' Wrestling era. Ted Dibiase was charasmatic, solid in the ring, and could talk just enough crap to make you hate him. He was a good foil to the super do-gooders of the 1980's professional wrestling scene. He also was the man paired with Steve Austin when he debuted in the WWF in 1996 as The Ringmaster. The tandem wasn't around long, but I'm sure there are plenty of stories of they're time together. Other topics would have to include the creation of the Million Dollar Man character and the Million Dollar Championship, his time managing a variety of talent in the Million Dollar Corporation, stint overseas and his neck injury, WCW and what led to him becoming a minister.

8. Natalya

So far Broken Skull Sessions seems to focus on legends in the business to interview, but there is always exceptions to the rule. Natalya would be a perfect exception, a member of wrestling royalty as a Hart she has 20 years in the business with 13 within WWE's system. I'm sure she has funny stories about growing up as a Hart, trying to live up to the legacy, and her time in the wrestling business and contributing to the Divas Revolution. Hopefully she would offer her thoughts and perspectives on the late 90's feud between her father and uncles and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

9. Rikishi

Rikishi is a WWE hall of famer and it is very debateable if he is a legend of not. He has shown how being able to easily adapt can breed longevity. Some great talking points would be his family tree, the lineage of the A'noai family, his son's the Uso's finding success in the business, and the many characters he played over the years before finding success as Rikishi. Of course they have to discuss their feud and the infamous hit and run angle.

10. Trish Stratus

In reality TNA wrestling is primarily responsible for laying the foundation and proving womens wrestling can be hard hitting and athletic, without being degrading with their knockouts division in the mid-2000s. In the WWE version of wrestling Trish Stratus and Lita are responsible for showing womens wrestling could be taken serious and were the catalyst for the Diva's revolution that occured in the mid 2010's. Trish and Lita's early 2000's feud inspired a good portion of today's roster and it would be interesting to hear what inspired her to wrestle. Detailing her progression from swimsuit model to valet and then champion. I would also like to hear her perspective on her storyline with Christian and Jericho, supporting players in the womens division such as Jazz, Victoria, Mickie James, Molly Holly and more.
