Today WWE released 10 talents, some very surprising and others you could see coming. Apparently these releases were due to budget cuts which is surprising considering WWE touted financial success coming off of WrestleMania. You hate to see any person in any profession lose their job, todays cuts gives fans an opportunity to speculate for the next 90 days where they maybe headed. Here are my predicitions on where today's talent may end up in the future.
Tucker was at the height of his career teaming with Otis as part of Heavy Machinery. Once that team was broken up Tucker fell by the wayside. Tucker honestly is a solid talent, but anyplace he goes he likely will be a midcarder. It's really hard to say where he'll end up but I think once more indy promotions open up he'll be a fixture on the Indy scene.
Mojo Rawley had a few stop and start pushes and was mainly used for his real life friendship with Rob Gronkowsi. Mojo is a very hyper guy, but his mic skills and wrestling ability put him in the same place as Tucker. Where ever he end's up he'll likely be in the same spot he was in the WWE. I think he'll transition out of the wrestling business.
I really enjoyed Bo Dallas NXT run with his goofy motivator Bo-lieve act. It unfortunately didn't translate well to the main roster, whatever was thrown his way he ran with 100%. Many speculated he would somehow be paired with his brother Bray but that never came to fruition. With NWA back I can see Bo going there using a variation of his Bo-lieve gimmick. The goofy self-righteous motivator would work well within the NWA environment in my opinion.
Wesley Blake is a very skilled technical wrestler who could not catch a break in the 'E. He was a victim of the Jaxson Ryker controversy last year leading to the Forgotten Sons being taken off television. Then he was again a victim of Steve Cutlers decision to come to work knowing he was diagnosed with covid-19. That led to the two being partners with King Corbin to end. He honestly could have been reunited with Buddy Murphy since they aren't utlizing him properly either. AEW men's roster is getting kind of full for midcarders, but I think Wesley would do great in Impact, ROH, or MLW.
I believe at one point Kalisto was on pace within WWE circles to be a successor to Rey Mysterio. No idea what happened that cancelled those plans. After the Lucha House Party were drafted to different brands none of them were properly used which is just a shame. My prediction and hope is that Kalisto ends up in Impact, he would have some exciting X-Division matches against guys like Chris Bey, Trey Miguel, and Ace Austin.
Chelsea Green is another talent who just could not catch a break in the WWE system. Her time with the Robert Stone Brand ended too soon, she was due to be called up to RAW but Paul Heyman who was a big advocate of hers was removed from his backstage position and those plans were dropped. She also experienced the injury bug a few times. I think she'll return to Impact and bring back the Laurel Van Ness character which she hinted at and I was a big fan of.
Mickie James has been a constant prescene in female wrestling since the mid-2000s. At this point in her career she is a reliable veteran who will get the job down and help elevate an younger talent. I see a few options for Mickie, she could leave wrestling and focus on her country music career. She could go to NWA or maybe ROH and help their respective womens divisions build. If she no longer wants to wrestle, she could use her knowledge and become a producer for those two organizations and possibly Impact as well.
The IIconics should have never been spilt up, it was one of the most asinine decisions WWE has made lately (Behind spiltting up The Hurt Business). It was clear they needed one another for character purposes and together they hid one anothers flaws. That said they put Peyton in another tag team situation with Lacey Evans on RAW before she announced she was pregnant, while Billie was moved to Smackdown looking for a friend. Billie was hilarious in all her segments by the way. They work best as a unit and I see them going to either Impact challenging for the Knockouts Tag Team championship or AEW helping to build their female roster.
Samoa Joe is another guy who unfortunately stayed injury while in the WWE. Despite that he was a good commentator and his summer 2017 feud with Brock Lesnar was one of Brocks best runs since his WWE return in 2012. In fact their feud should have lasted longer but it is what it is. Joe can still move around the ring even though he's not quite as agile as he was due to age and numerous injuries. I'd love to see him return to Impact where he made his name and was a founding father of the X-Division and help Impact grow as a company in the ring and outside the ring.
