Christian Coalition 2.0

 

In the 3 short years that AEW has changed the wrestling landscape it's fairly obvious Tony Khan and company enjoy paying homage to wrestling they grew up on. Which there is nothing wrong with.

Another thing AEW loves is factions, I love a good faction even though I feel sometimes they are over reliant on factions. Also there aren't too many factions that stand out in the world of AEW. A thought that randomly came to my head, while we have the Wingmen, Dark Order, Death Triangle, House Of Black, and Andrade Family Office of the world, why do we not have Christian's Coalition 2.0?

Currently Christian is playing the role of a mentor to AEW tag-team champions Jurassic Express Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy . The two are exciting wrestlers but with the exception of their Baltimora "Tarzan Boy" theme they aren't standing out much. I personally think they may be due for a slow burn to a heel turn and Christian could lead them to the promise land.

Back in the mid-2000's Christian left WWE and joined TNA where he showed he could be a main eventer and someone to build around. One of my personal favorites during his time in TNA was when he led Christian's Coalition featuring Tyson Tomko, AJ Styles and later Scott Steiner. They were cocky and funny, dangerous, and champions. Christian displayed why he is known as "Captain Charisma".

Tyson Tomko even found his groove as the "enforcer" with a little personality. I also believe his time in the group helped AJ Styles become more comfortable on the mic showing more personality, to go along with his unbelievably amazing wrestling talent. The group only lasted a year but I for one enjoyed every moment the group created, and still consider it one of the more underrated groups in wrestling history. 

I truly believe since it was a TNA faction it doesn't get the love it deserve.

Fast forward 15 years later and it's time for Christian to work his magic and help Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy show more personality. Especially Jungle Boy as he is considered a pillar of AEW and future AEW world champion. Turn that likeable babyface into a cocky smug young hotshot, walk out to Tarzan Boy without all the fanfare, stone faced and to the point, of discontinue using it period. His trajectory will rise faster than any other pillar not named MJF. 

AEW do us a favor and introduce the world to a new version of Christian's Coalition.
