AEW Slow Down On Factions

Lasts weeks episode of Dynamite, a new faction was born led by Stokley Hathaway named The Firm. I'm a huge fan of the very talented Hathaway and certain members of his faction (Morrisey, Lee Moriarty and Ethan Page, The Gunn Boys are hit or miss to me). Their arrival as a unit signaled a problem I've long thought AEW holds.

AEW has way too many factions, now don't get me wrong. I love a good faction, the problem with AEW is most of their factions while having organic beginnings at times don't last long. Which in turn has meant none make any sort of impact, and  there has not been one faction that has truly been dominant.

The closest group was The Inner Circle. Other than them Dark Order has found their way as a lower/mid card comedy act which is fine. No one takes The Factory led by QT Marshall serious. Truthbusters maybe an entertaining low to midcard act but nothing more than that.

Hardy Family Office didn't make a dent, Andrade Family Office didn't make a scratch.

Team Taz imploded too soon, Cage disappeared before being held back to be on ROH's roster. Hook once he started wrestling Taz stopped appearing with him, and Hobbs and Starks starting doing their own thing before separating.

The Pinnacle which had way more potential came and went, Blackpool Combat Club seems to be slowly and quietly separating as a unit. The Jericho Appreciation Society is already on the verge of losing an member.

Undisputed Elite and The Elite respective momentum was derailed by injuries, and some backstage issues for the Elite. I don't think the momentum will come right back. House Of Black had to disband due to outside issues bigger than pro wrestling.

Now AEW is still a young organization so like many things, stuff could change. However, as of now AEW should slow down on factions.

Allow one unit to really dominate the scene, not nWo style domination. Just enough that people associate the unit with AEW and the group becomes the first legendary AEW faction.

When you think of the Four Horsemen, nWo, D-X and Bullet Club. Despite multiple incarnations over the years. In their first year or so, they had longevity, influence and dominance to cement their legacy in wrestling history.

If AEW doesn't focus on one faction and allow them to grow. All of these factions will eventually go the way of the old "gang wars" factions in WWF during the mid-90s. People will forget them.

Other than the Nation of Domination, if I say D.O.A. or Los Boricuas most people will say who? Most AEW factions are in danger of having that same reaction from fans.
