Survivor Series WarGames: Perfect Match

 

WWE has announced that this year's Survivor Series will be War Games. This is an excellent idea, Survivor Series has grown stale over the years. WWE got away from the sole survivor format, then tried the whole Brand supremacy thing which was one big joke. In fact I commented last year that maybe it was time to do away with Survivor Series as a event in general.

Now that Triple H is steering the ship, he and company hopefully are breathing new life into what was arguably, the weakest of the big four. War Games was a WCW staple with its own sole Survivor format, NXT revived it in 2019 and now it will be on the big stage.

Just as important is why there will be a war games match. Storylines in any media are important to get fans invested. Hopefully the story will play out in the coming weeks that lead us to Survivor Series.

With two matches announced I already forsee Damage Control against Bianca Belair, Asuka, and Alexa Bliss. Especially with The way Io Shirai floats around the ring, she's sure to come up with something that rivals her trash can spot.

The other match has to involve The Bloodline. Likely against Drew McIntyre (pausing his beef with Kross) and if this past weeks Smackdown was planting the seeds. A team that includes Ricochet for the spots, Madcap Moss for the rub, and two other to be determined Team members. Three if the national treasure that is Sami Zayn is allowed to participate with The Bloodline.

Whatever the matches end up being, if this new format brings relevancy back to both Suevivor Series and WarGames with this becoming a yearly thing. Then WWE has done their job of making a perfect union, and I will be there every anniversary
