End The Debate: Sable Is An Hall Of Famer

 

Mick Foley recently caused a bit of stir when he mentioned on his podcast, that Sable deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame. As such there has been some spirited debates on social media and wrestling forums about whether or not she deserves to be in the WWE Hall Of Fame. Now we all know the WWE Hall Of Fame is very subjective and at times can be a joke with some of it's inductees. I'm here to tell you however, Sable definitely deserves to be in the hall of fame.

Along with Sunny she was a pioneer of The "Divas" era in WWF/E. During the Attitude Era she was Thee Diva. She had everything Vince McMahon and mainstream pop culture were looking for, attractive, petite, blonde hair and boobs. She parlayed that into mainstream media opportunities like TV show appearances. Which eventually led to her centerfold in Playboy, which she was on the cover of twice. That move opened the door for fellow Divas like Chyna, Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson, Christy Hemme, Ashley Massaro, and Maria Kanellis. Let's not forget her famous Fully Loaded segment that teenage boys going through puberty still watch today.

People will say she wasn't a good wrestler, but she didn't have to be. When she wrestled she often paired with more seasoned wrestlers like Jacqueline and Luna Vachon who could protect her, themselves and take bumps that make her look like a champ. She played her part well and was a centerpiece of the Attitude era.

I've heard rumors she prefers to be out of the spotlight these days. So should she opt not to be inducted that is one thing. However, no matter how you slice it, try to tear down her wrestling skills and the valet role she played. Sable for her mainstream appeal and kickstarting the divas era, deserves to be in the WWE Hall Of Fame.
