The Devil Reveal..Will It Be A Success Or Bust?

AEW currently has a major storyline occurring with an individual wearing a devil's mask attacking people associated with MJF. With anything these days there are two sides of fans regarding this storyline, those that wanted a conclusion to it at Full Gear. Other's who are just fine letting the story play out for a length of time until the right moment to reveal The Devil. I see both side’s of the coin, but it has left me wondering.

Does AEW have an end game already in mind for the Devil reveal? Or will they drag it indefinitely? When the reveal happens will it be a bit of a letdown? I hope Tony Khan has this angle well planned and mapped out. The infamous WWF attitude era Higher Power angle was dud because there was no planned ending.
Other big reveals just didn’t hit for various reasons, such as The Sara stalker angle where DDP was the stalker (just didn’t fit him). Rikishi was the one who ran Stone Cold over with a car (Dancing machine Rikishi?). WCW’s white Hummer angle was so ill-planned, it was kind of acknowledged but thrown away when Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo rebooted WCW.

The Ace’s & Eight’s identity reveals in TNA (most members of the group the audience didn’t care for), even Retribution as much as Mustafa Ali tried and tried to make something out of it. Nothing could really salvage it.

There have been slow burn reveals that worked. The monster Kane as the Undertakers brother, Shawn Michaels parking lot attacker being Triple H. Of course, Hogan as the mystery third man to start the nWo just maybe the greatest reveal ever.

The Devil angle has great potential, everyone is pointing to the obvious choice of Adam Cole as the man behind the mask. Which last week's episode of Dynamite left a bread crumb of a possible subtle hint (5:30 mark) it maybe him  or he knows who it is. Others say it’s Britt Baker (which would be real intriguing)..I’ve even heard whispers that it could be Jack Perry.

Whoever ends up being behind the mask, I hope it has been well planned out and their reasoning makes sense within the world of AEW.

We shall see as I’m hoping it doesn’t disappoint.
