Random Rants For April

Damn, just like that April is over. Time truly flies by the older you get.

Despite gripes about night 2, and the ending to Cody vs Roman. I enjoyed both nights of Mania, and it's truly amazing how successful the 2-night format has become in 3 short years.

That WrestleMania set was beautiful. As someone who's always admired the behind the scenes aspect of productions. What do they do with the sets once their broken down?

I love Bianca Belair as a person, performer, and in-ring competitor. She doesn't need to be a heel as she is too valuable to the WWE brand as role model. However, I think it maybe time her character is tweaked someway a little. Not a full fledge heel, but some tweaks to reinforce she is the best in everything, so everyone know she's not one to mess with.

There are rumors WWE may go back to having brand specific PLE's, including having multiple PLE's a month. If that is the case they need to let that idea die, it's stretching a even thinner roster and creative staff even more to create compelling stories. There also is such a thing as offering too much of a product which leads to fan burnout. Raw, NXT, Smackdown and a PLE every month for wrestling fans who just watch WWE is more than enough. Imagine how much of a nightmare it'd be for fans of wrestling in general as far as keeping up with everything.

Related but unrelated, WWE has ordered employees back to the office full time which has become a new corporate trend under the guise of "collaboration". That thought process of 5 days a week in the office for everyone is so archaic. I wish more companies see value in embracing the hybrid schedule more.

So far I am enjoying this role Trish Stratus is playing of a delusional veteran who feel's she was not given her respect as a legend.

I'm not completely sold on the new World Heavyweight Championship look, but we shall see as time passes.

With the draft occuring, WWE should really have taken my idea into consideration...oh well maybe next time.

I am excited to see what Lashley does on Smackdown and how Gunther dominates the Raw brand.

I am a tad annoyed the Uso's are likely headed to Raw and that may be the calayst for The Bloodline break up, instead of the storyline truly playing around.

Good news for AEW doing their first show overseas at Wembley Stadium.

Jay White is a good signing that definitely fits AEW's roster. I just can't help myself when it comes to how things would be if he went to Impact.

Everyone, was legitimately shocked by Roderick Strong debuting for AEW. Unless he is paired with Adam Cole on a permanent basis, I think he will quickly get knocked down the card and lost in the shuffle.

Nick Aldis rejoining Impact is a win for both sides. Impact gains a veteran who may not move the needle much , but can bring quality matches to the product. In return Aldis is within an organization where he can be a big player as opposed to quickly getting lost in the shuffle (wwe, aew).

Speaking of a win, Trinity Fatu (Naomi) joining Impact is a huge win for both sides. Impact gains a huge name and crossover star, I know several non-wrestling fans of hers due to "Total Divas". I also have seen on several fb groups and forums, fans who have casually tuned into Impact making it known they will be checking out her debut.

I also think working with the Knockouts division and learning under Gail Kim, will help her in-ring skills tremendously. It seems they are planting the seeds for a feud against Deonna Purrazzo. I'm specifically looking forward to matches with Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans, Jordynne Grace, Killer Kelly and Gisele Shaw.

The Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto always, always provides an amazing visual for Impact's events. The aesthetics of it is just make the events feel special.

I've really been enjoying Impact's documentary series Diary on YouTube. Those documentaries are as well produced as any WWE docs, and gives fans an opportunity to learn more about the human beings behind the performers for Impact Wrestling.

That's all for the month of April. Look out for a few articles next month, have a safe and productive May.
